We have been delighted with the enormous success we have accomplished through adding our first "Releaf" organic range to the existing portfolio. Realizing we live in a world that is ready to make the change for a better environment, healthier living and sustainability, we decided to build on this success by sharing and spreading this belief to other communities.
Reviewing, our moto "A time for change ... A time for releaf" we came up with a plan to share this wealth and bring some relief to others by supporting a candidate from a historically disadvantaged community. Lacking in funds and means to further themselves, which was not brought upon through their own actions, but rather through a history of apartheid politics, which has left their community without fair opportunities, basic necessities and privileges. This would be were we as a company would try and bring about relief and live our moto of bringing about change.
Identifying the right candidate was the vital next step for this initiative to succeed, but luckily a person like Gordon made this very easy. A young man with such talents deserves to have a fair chance in life. A clever student, with loads of sporting abilities and a love for agriculture made him the perfect candidate. Gordon has received full scholarship, sponsored by Imbuko Wines and Prestige Wine Group, to attend the prestigious Boland Agricultural School. Boland Landbou is one of the top agricultural schools internationally and one of the top 10 rugby schools in the country. This school has produced many a leader in the field of agriculture as well as numerous Springbok rugby players. For Gordon adapting could be a challenge, achieving success would not come easily, but true to our belief in this young man, triumph was the only option. Gordon was the perfect fit. As an avid rugby player he has been playing for his age groups' first team, as well as participating in Athletics meetings were he truly excels. He reached the national finals and participating for South African colours. His social skills has made him popular amongst his class mates and a role model to his peers, who are keen supporters of Boland Landbou's rising young star. Achieving success both in and out of the class, this young man has shown us what can be accomplished if you have the right attitude, willpower and opportunities.
